Appearance and Size

The Rainbow Lorikeet lives up to its name with an explosion of colors. These medium-sized parrots display a deep blue head and belly, a green back and wings, and a bright orange-red breast, accented with yellow streaks. Their beak is orange, and their eyes are a deep red, adding to their vibrant appearance.

They typically measure about 25 to 30 cm in length and weigh between 120 and 140 grams. Despite their size, they are extremely active and agile, often seen hanging upside down or climbing energetically around their space.

Rainbow Lorikeets are often considered the “showbirds” of the parrot world, turning heads wherever they go with their colorful feathers and curious behavior.
